Mental Health Support roles
A rewarding role supporting people to live independently and confidently.
Are you compassionate, positive, and motivated by making a real difference?
Our Mental Health Support Workers play a vital role in supporting people to manage their mental health, build resilience and live fulfilling, independent lives within their communities.
We’re recruiting Support Workers to join our friendly Mental Health teams across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Weston‑super‑Mare.
What you’ll do
As a Support Worker, you’ll support people with their everyday lives — helping them rebuild confidence, maintain relationships and make choices that matter to them.
You will:
- Support people to make day‑to‑day decisions and longer‑term life choices
- Build positive, trusting relationships based on respect and understanding
- Support recovery, emotional wellbeing and confidence at each person’s pace
- Encourage and maintain connections with family, friends and the wider community
- Support people through periods of change or challenge
- Work alongside colleagues and other professionals
- This is a role where compassion, patience and understanding are key.
“The most rewarding part of my role is supporting people to grow in confidence and achieve things they never thought were possible.”

Who we’re looking for
To flourish in this role, you’ll have:
- A caring, patient and respectful approach
- Good communication skills

- A genuine interest in supporting people with mental health needs
- Previous experience or training in mental health can be helpful and it may be essential for some roles. However we’re mainly looking for people with the right values and a willingness to learn.
- For some roles, a driving licence is required due to community‑based activities — but this isn’t essential for all positions, so please don’t let this put you off applying.
