–
to someone's day.
More than a job – flexible roles that fit around your life
A career in care doesn’t have to follow a one‑size‑fits‑all pattern. We offer flexible and part‑time opportunities that work around your life, while giving you the chance to make a real difference every day.
Whether you’re balancing family commitments, study, other work, or personal circumstances, we aim to offer roles and shift patterns that help you find the right balance.
Support that’s tailored to you
You don’t need previous experience to get started. We’re looking for people with the right values, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. We’ll provide full training, ongoing support, and the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications and progress your career as your circumstances change.
Supported Living roles
In our Supported Living services, Support Workers help people live independently in their own homes, with support shaped around each person’s needs, goals and lifestyle.
Because support is personalised, these roles can offer a high level of flexibility too.
As a Support Worker in Supported Living, you’ll:
- Support independence, confidence and day‑to‑day living skills
- Encourage choice and involvement in everyday and life decisions
- Build positive, trusting relationships over time
- Help people stay connected with family, friends and their community
“What I love about Supported Living is that no two people — or roles — are the same. The support is personalised, and so is the way we work.”
Caroline, Support Worker
Roles usually include a mix of shifts. Some services may require a driving licence for community activities, but this isn’t essential for all positions.
Bank Support Worker roles
Our Bank of Support Workers offers maximum flexibility and choice.
Bank roles provide:
- Flexible, ad hoc shifts
- Greater control over when you work
- Experience across different services
- A great way to start or build a career in care
Bank work is ideal if you’re new to care, returning to work, or need flexibility alongside other commitments.
Day Service Opportunities
Our Day Opportunities services provide welcoming, supportive environments where people can build skills, confidence and social connections during the day.
Day Opportunities roles are well suited if you’re looking for regular daytime hours with structure and routine.
As a Support Worker in Day Opportunities, you’ll:
- Support people to take part in activities and group sessions
- Encourage independence, wellbeing and social interaction
- Build consistent, positive relationships
- Work as part of a supportive team delivering person‑centred care
Day Opportunities roles typically offer:
- Daytime working hours
- A good balance of routine and variety
- Opportunities to support people in a group setting
These roles are particularly suitable for people new to care, returning to work, or seeking a role that fits around other responsibilities.
Training and development opportunities
Whether you’re new to care or have worked in support roles throughout your career, for us it is about you as an individual and whether you share our values, as we can support you to learn the rest. You can be assured that when joining Milestones Trust, we will provide you with a full and comprehensive induction to support you to get to know the Trust and thrive in your new role.
In addition to the required training you would expect to receive, we offer excellent high quality learning opportunities, including the opportunity to undertake a level 3 or 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
We also offer specialist training in a variety of subjects, including offering our own bespoke programmes like the Good Food Programme, which gives our support staff the opportunity to undertake a cookery course facilitated by the Square Food Foundation, to ensure the people we support have access to the best tasting and nutritionally balanced food.
Our very own nurse development programme offers a full range of training, support and other CPD opportunities for nurses to support you with your revalidation.
Plus our tailored leadership programme that is provided to all managers and those on a management pathway, to help you progress your career and manage your team and service to the best of your ability.
