We are looking for volunteers who are confident and outgoing, who like doing fun activities and making new friends. Ideally this would be a weekly volunteer role. One of the individuals is more confident and likes skittles, swimming, cycling (at Warmley Wheelers) going to the cinema, reading and music. The other individual is living with dementia and less confident about going out in the community. However, he loves singing, arts and crafts, puzzles and music.
We are looking for volunteers to support the two men on an individual basis, staff will support volunteers to get to know the individuals and how to best support with activities and trips.
Although there is a local bus, being able to drive would be helpful as there is a car that volunteers can use to get out and about.
We can cover travel and some activity expenses.
Please note, for all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and references will be taken up. A risk assessment is in place for the role which we will ask the volunteer to sign before they start. We also ask that all volunteers are double vaccinated and can provide a vaccine passport as evidence of this.
All volunteers have an online training before starting in role and are supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too.
Please get in touch if you are interested or would like further information, we would love to hear from you.
